Happy Birthday to Maliha!

Today its Maliha’s birthday and I’ll be taking her out for dinner. I also ordered something for her through Amazon but it hasn’t arrived yet! Thankfully I had been planning on another surprise for her and that is in order so far. I hope she enjoys it.

She has been getting congratulatory SMSes and calls from all over since morning. At the same time Rohail is trying to be an especially good boy today to make things easy on her. As per Maliha; he doesn’t seem to be doing a very good job of it so far.

Interestingly, it is also my mother’s birthday today and we called her at midnight last night to wish her. Hope she also has a great day.

Trainings at work

Last week I was part of a 4-day long training organized by my company on User and System Requirements conducted by Learning Tree. It was a very interactive team-based exercise and we were given a scenario and had to work together to achieve the target.

Other than the technical knowledge I gained; the best part for me was getting a better understanding of team dynamics. Everyone has different ideas and thinks they are right. The trick is how to ensure that you keep on moving ahead and everyone feels good. I also had the opportunity to present one aspect of our work to the whole class and the instructor, and that served as a confidence booster.

Next week my manager has lined me up for another one of their trainings: Object-Oriented Design and Analysis Using UML and I’m really looking forward to it.
