Bob Woolmer, Pakistan’s coach has died within 24 hours of Pakistan being ousted from the Cricket World Cup 2007. This comes as a shock in the world of cricket and is indeed very sad news. He was found unconscious in his hotel room earlier today. The main cause has not been determined yet but the shock and stress of Pakistan’s defeat may have played a role. He was 58.

Really a very sad situation. I hope it provides a proper perspective to the cricket crazy mob.
I just hope this was not a bookie putting pressure on the coach.
May his soul rest in peace.
Now the whole world will come to know who Bob Woolmer was.
It is sad when fame comes striding along to you, posthumously. Nobody likes to go the Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan way – I certainly know, I wouldn’t.
Well as far as I know, NFAK was still pretty well-known during his lifetime.
As for Bob Woolmer, with all due respect; fame/curiousity in his case is only associated to the heinous way in which he died and has little to do with any outstanding talent displayed on his behalf.
We are never going to find out are we, who or what did him in? No matter how many autopsies, the Govt of Pakistan’s spin machine, which has always worked tirelessly; in this instance seeking closure on the whole Bob Woolmer episode, has succeeded.
Mission Closure Closed.
